Hopi-Style Gourd Rattle

You’re going to create your own Hopi-style rattle using the canteen gourd. You’ll learn design techniques ranging from mandalas, totem animals, and floral and nature scenes. Rattle construction using an oak handle, pyroengraving and painting techniques. Important finishing tips will leave you with a beautifully completed rattle. You should bring your own woodburning tool. We will have a few loaners available. Date: Saturday, October 25, 2008 - 10am to 4pm Fee: $75 (materials included)
